Pecan Plantation, in Granbury, is one of the best known in the country — a 4,200-acre master-planned community that's been growing for nearly 50 years, now with two separate runways and hundreds of homes across both. Closer to Austin, Lakeway Airpark and a cluster of similar communities put pilots within 90 minutes of downtown while still keeping taxiway access to their own hangars. North of Dallas, Hidden Valley Airpark is one of the more established fly-in neighborhoods in that part of the state, and further west, smaller strips like those in the Hill Country cater to buyers who want more land and fewer neighbors.
